  • Payments for purchases under EUR 50 can be made by simply touching the card reader with the card. Contactless payment is available everywhere where you see the contactless payments symbol. Just a beep contactless and it's paid!
  • You can activate and deactivate the contactless payment feature via Internet Banking or Swedbank mobile app.
  • For the purposes of safety of transactions, we have the right to ask to confirm the purchase with PIN.
  • We want to make online shopping safer for you. That’s why you must activate the internet shopping option for each of your MasterCard or Visa cards issued by Swedbank.
  • Check your payment card details within our app. Easily access your card number, expiry date, and Security code/CVC2 code for all your active cards.
  • Order the card conveniently and quickly via Internet Banking or the mobile app.
  • The card will be produced and sent by post to your specified address within 7 days. If the card is ordered with delivery abroad – within 21 days.
  • After receiving your card, activate it via Internet Banking within 60 days, otherwise the card will be closed after 60 days.
  • The agreement for the new or replaced card received will be signed when you activate the card.
  • The card’s PIN will be displayed on the Internet Banking site upon activating it.
  • If the card has been renewed and has the same PIN as the previous card, you can also activate it in a shop or ATM. In a shop – insert your card into the reader and enter your PIN when paying for the purchase. In ATMs – insert your card and perform one of the usual operations (e.g. view your account statement, withdraw cash).
  • Activate the renewed card within 30 days after the expiry of the previous card as the old card will no longer work.
  • Destroy the old card (e.g. by cutting it up).
  • If you want to shop online, activate internet payments.

The fee is debited automatically after activation of the card. The fee for a card produced after expiry of the previous card's validity period is payable by the customer in the last month of the validity period of the previous card or after activation of the card.
Accelerated production and delivery of card options 35.00

Accelerated production and delivery of cards can be ordered at a branch or by calling us on 67 444 444. The card can be collected at our branches or at a delivery address specified by the customer to the bank.

Card linked to blocked account 15.00 When ordering a Swedbank payment card in case of a blocked account, the monthly card fee and the production and delivery fee are 0 EUR. If the account is unblocked, the monthly card fee starts to be charged after 2 months according to the price list. In case of a blocked account, other types of cards cannot be ordered.

The card’s monthly fee is debited automatically from the customer’s account at the start of each month for each month when the card has been in customer’s use.

Emergency cash assistance in Western Union service points 42.00 The service is available in cases when the card is lost or blocked.

  • We want to make online shopping safer for you. That’s why the internet shopping option must be activated in case of each Mastercard and Visa cards that have been issued by Swedbank and are used to make purchases online. Read more about internet shopping.
  • Before you make a purchase online, make sure the store is safe.
  • Try to find out more information about merchant. Every website should have information about the name and location of the company and an e-mail address and telephone number to use, should you have any problems. There should also be information about deliveries and returns, the procedure for submitting complaints as well as warranty terms and conditions. Don’t fall for discounts that seem to be too unrealistic.
  • Use a welcome text in the Internet shopping programme that is as personalised as possible. Every time you make a purchase online, ensure that the welcome text is the same as the one you set when you signed up to the programme.
  • If you only rarely make purchases online using your bank card, we advise you to activate the Internet shopping option only for the moment of making the purchase.
  • You can protect your money by choosing usage limits that suit you. You can set separate limits for purchases, cash and payment transactions.
  • You can change Usage Limits in Internet bank under My Cards or in the Swedbank app.
  • You can also increase your limits temporarily if necessary.
  • When you get your bank card, you will also receive a PIN that is known only to you.
  • Memorise it, do not write your PIN on the card or anywhere else where it can be seen by others.
  • Do not tell or show your PIN to anyone, not even to bank employees.
  • You can check your card’s PIN code in the Swedbank app. It’s secure, easy and will help you in case you forget your PIN code.
  • Try to enter your PIN so that no one else can see it, because your card could be stolen and used by somebody else. If the payment with a stolen card is confirmed with the PIN, it is the customer’s liability.
  • If you suspect that your PIN has become known to someone else or if the bank has notified you of the need to change your PIN, you must change it immediately. You can do so at any Swedbank ATM.
  • When selecting your PIN, do not re-use your old PIN. Do not use identical codes for different cards for the purpose of memorising them.
  • Make sure you always know where your bank card is. If you pay by card, do not let the person serving you take it to a back room on their own, because your card data can be stolen.
  • If your card has been lost, block it immediately in our app or internet banking site. If you blocked your card in the app or the internet banking site, you can unblock it or order a replacement card within 10 days from blocking your card.
  • It is not recommended, to send your card number by post or give it on the telephone when making a purchase, because your card data could be used for fraudulent transactions, but if there are no other possibilities, please, be extra careful.
  • Be careful when using the ATMs of other banks. Some ATMs return your card before dispensing the money. Make sure you have your bank card and the requested amount of cash before you leave the ATM.
  • Only the person whose name appears on the card, may use the card. Do not let anyone, even a close person, to use your card.
  • Always check the transaction amount that you are approving with the card.
  • Follow up your card transactions regularly in your internet bank or in the Swedbank app. If any transaction seems suspicious, please contact the bank.

  1. Pay digitally. It helps you track your expenses, set the limits for certain expense categories, and identify where you can manage your consumption habits.
  2. Be aware of non-recyclable receipts. Paper receipts are made from non-recyclable thermal paper. When paying by card, ask for a paperless receipt which you can receive online by e-mail.
  3. Contactless payments are clean and hygienic. By using contactless payments, you can reduce the physical contact between different people who are exchanging banknotes or touching the ATM.
