Be aware of your 2nd pillar pension savings!Due to amendments to the State-Funded Pension Law, starting from 1 January 2009 the State Social Security Agency (“SSSA”) is changing the way it informs the 2nd pillar pension scheme participants. From now on, the SSSA will no longer mail 2nd pillar pension account statements and other notifications by the SSSA (e.g. on 2nd pillar pension asset manager/investment plan change, on registration of a new participant in the 2nd pillar pension scheme, etc.). From the beginning of this year, these notifications will only be available in electronic form (on your online banking site). Therefore, we encourage all 2nd pillar pension scheme participants, who were receiving information from the SSSA by mail, to sign up for receiving the SSSA notifications on the Swedbank online banking site, which is a secure, convenient and simple way of receiving information! How do I sign up and check the SSSA notifications? To have your SSSA notifications sent on the Swedbank online banking site, all you have to do is fill out the Application for electronic delivery of statements prepared by the State Social Insurance Agency. You can register your application at any Swedbank branch, Swedbank online banking site, or any SSSA branch. How often will the SSSA inform about 2nd pillar pension savings? The SSSA will, no later than 4 months after the end of the calendar year, prepare and send out the annual 2nd pillar pension account statements to the participants (from now on, only in electronic form). To receive such a statement this year, you must sign up for the SSSA statements in electronic form (on Swedbank online banking site) by 31 March the latest! General information on how the 2nd pillar pension scheme works, current issues, and on all investment plans, is available on www.manapensija.lv website. |
