You may log on to the Internet bank with the help
of …
Code card
Upon logging on to the Internet bank, you, as the
User, are prompted to enter the User code, permanent password and a specific
code from your code card. These means of identification are issued to
you when you apply for electronic banking services at a branch of the
bank.
The code card contains 72 six-digit codes. Every time you log on to the Internet bank you will be prompted to enter one of the identification codes from your code card. Do not use the code card for writing down your permanent password or User code.
Should your permanent password become known to any
third party, contact Customer Support Service immediately by dialling
67444444 and cancel your user rights until you receive a new password.
Keep your password secret, for the Internet bank
automatically presumes that the person logging on to the bank is you.
The instructions given to the bank during a log-on session with correctly
entered passwords and codes are considered your instructions and will
be duly performed.
Code calculator
The Code Calculator is an electronic device whereby
the customer may identify himself/herself for the purposes of using electronic
banking services either at the Internet bank or Telephone Bank.
When using the Code Calculator as the log-on means
for the Internet bank, you are asked to insert the User Code and an 8-digit
code generated by the Code Calculator for the user identification purposes.
The access code generated by the Code Calculator is generated once, in
real time and is valid for a restricted period of time. Thus, even if
it becomes known to any third party, he/she will not be able to use it
anymore.
The Bank recommends using the Code Calculator for
customers whose payment amounts exceed LVL 3000.
The Code Calculator is linked to the particular User.
This implies that when using several services at the same time (for example,
Swedbank Internet Banking, Swedbank internet bank for business clients and Telephone Bank), you may use one Code Calculator
for all these services Code Calculator.
Security
The security ensured by the Code Calculator is based
on two-tier authentication mechanism:
- entry of a PIN code for the Code Calculator set by the User, which
enables the User to use the Code Calculator;
- entry of the access code generated by the Code Calculator, which
is necessary to log on to the Internet bank.
1. Authentication of the Code calculator (PIN)
- The PIN code (5 digits) is a combination of digits, by entering which
the User generates an access code in the Code Calculator to be used
for logging on to the Internet bank. The PIN code is requested upon
pressing the button ON/OFF. You SHALL NOT disclose this PIN to ANYONE
(including employees of the bank).
- When you receive the Code Calculator at the branch of the bank, it
will have a temporary PIN code (11111) installed. This is to be replaced
by you with a five-digit PIN code at your discretion when using it for
the first time.
- When choosing the PIN code, select a combination of digits not easy
to guess.
- Remember the PIN code of your Code Calculator, do not write it down.
- Under no circumstances should you keep the PIN together with the
Code Calculator.
- If you have forgotten your PIN and enter an incorrect digit
combination for three consecutive times, the Code Calculator will be
blocked. In this case the User should visit the bank to unblock the
Code Calculator.
- If the User has accidentally disclosed his/her PIN code or the User
has any suspicion that the PIN may have become known to a third party,
the PIN code must be changed immediately (see the Code Calculator User
Manual).
- Upon entering an incorrect PIN code, an error message (FAIL) is displayed.
After the third consecutive unsuccessful attempt to activate the programme
with an incorrect PIN code, the Code Calculator’s programme is automatically
blocked and cannot be activated anymore. The Customer must visit the
bank to replace the Code Calculator.
2. Access code
- The access Code is an eight-digit combination generated by the Code
Calculator for the use of the banking services. The User receives the
Access Code only after entering the five-digit PIN code (known only
to the User).
- The Access Code should be entered on the Internet bank log-on page
or stated to the operator of the Telephone Bank.
- The code generated by the Code Calculator may be used to log on to
the Internet bank or Telephone Bank only for one single session. An
Access Code cannot be used twice. The generated code is valid only for
a certain period of time. This prevents the possibility for the access
code to become known to third parties and for these to have fraudulent
access to your account.
