A multi-currency current account with Swedbank is corporate bank account for conducting settlements in Latvian lats and other currencies. A multi-currency account gives additional convenience for corporate customers as all transactions can be done from a single account – you won’t need to open and maintain any additional accounts in other currencies. If necessary, one principal currency and permitted currencies may be set for an account.

Once a current account is opened, you can easily operate the account in Swedbank’s electronic settlement channels.

Advantages:

  • you can open a number of multi-currency accounts with the same or different principal currencies and permitted currencies;
  • the account can be used for non-cash settlements via Internet Banking and for cash transactions;
  • one or more bank cards can be linked to a current account;
  • account statements, account reports and printouts of a single transaction are available.

Additional multi-currency current account

In order for the company to separate funds earmarked for various purposes, one or more additional multi-currency current accounts can be opened, giving you a better picture of various cash flows. An additional current account can also be used as transit account where funds are transferred for immediate re-transfer, for example, to pay salaries.

We recommend opening an additional multi-currency current account if:

  • you need to segregate the funds of a business unit or a project;
  • if need to limit the amount of funds available through the company’s bank cards (company’s bank cards can be linked to an additional account);
  • you want a separate for salary transfers which lets you keep salary payments separate from other transfers of the company.

Documents necessary for opening a multi-currency current account:

  • registration certificate (if the company has not have single 11-digit registration number, which verifies registration with the Register of Enterprises and the State Revenue Service, the taxpayer registration certificate must also be submitted);
  • proof of authority to represent the company;
  • identity documents of authorized signatories (passport);
  • additional documents if necessary.
