State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) brigades have to respond to emergencies under various weather conditions and quite frequently emergency locations are difficult and dangerous to reach. Therefore, Swedbank, already a supporter of the Safe Driving School, had decided to present SFRS with advanced driving courses for 10 firefighters. On 13 April Māris Mančinskis, CEO of Swedbank Latvia, and Andris Pļavenieks, Director of Safe Driving School, officially presented General Ainars Pencis, the Head of the SFRS, with a 10-person advanced driving course voucher. “When under pressure, experience is crucial in choosing the right action. This applies to finance sector and rescue service alike. So, I am pleased for this Swedbank’s present contributing to more experienced State Fire and Rescue Service”, says Māris Mančinskis, CEO of Swedbank Latvia. Developed together with Swedish safe driving experts this two-day advanced driving course for emergency vehicle drivers uses custom-fitted cars. The aim of the course is to develop emergency vehicle driver’s skills for coping with extreme traffic on daily basis. These skills will help drivers get to emergency sites quickly and safely, saving human lives that may depend on immediate arrival of emergency help. |
