How to become a customer of the bank
One of the key principles underlying the operations
of "Swedbank" is to provide its customers with services that
make their life simpler and more convenient. These services include: account
with the bank, payment cards, settlements by telephone or Internet, automatic
payment of bills, short-term loans and other services. The employees of
our bank will always be pleased to tell you more about these services without

or by telephone 67444 444. To become a customer
of Swedbank, visit a branch of Swedbank carrying
with you your passport.
For you to be able to use the banking services efficiently,
we suggest that you start by applying for the following package of products:
Account with the bank
The Bank credits your money (for example, your salary, and pension) to
your account with the bank. An account
with the bank guarantees that your money is safe at all times and that
it remains at your disposal as necessary. The bank charges a fee for opening
an account, however, the maintenance of account is free of charge.
You may:
- Receive money to your account (salary, pension, allowances, other
transfers);
- Withdraw cash (at ATMs, branches);
- Transfer money to others (payment of bills, transfers);
- Deposit money and earn interest;
- Effect payments between accounts with Swedbank in a
second.
Payment cards
Upon opening an account with the bank, you may immediately receive international
payment cards VISA Electron and Maestro.
These payment cards are linked to your account allowing to pay for goods
and services and to withdraw cash from ATMs in Latvia and around the world.
Use of payment cards at ATMs of Swedbank and for paying for purchases
is free of charge. At ATMs you may check your account balance, pay telephone
bills and print out statement for the last three transactions effected
on the account, thus, for example, finding out the amount of salary transferred
to your account.
Remote settlements
For your financial transactions you may use various banking services also
without going to the bank. Remote banking services provide you with possibilities
to effect transactions with your funds on the account from anywhere in
the world at any time of the day or night by using computer and telephone.
For your convenience, Swedbank offers connection to the following services
free of charge:
- Internet
bank - - provided you have access to a computer with an Internet
connection, Swedbank Internet Banking is the cheapest and most convenient way to communicate
with the bank! You may effect payments, conclude agreements, check currency
exchange rates and browse other topical banking information 24h a day;
- Telephone
Bank - you may operate with your funds the same was as you would
in the internet bank, with the exception that you would be giving instructions
to the employee of the bank by telephone 67444 444 on business days from
8.00 a.m. to 08.00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10.00a.m. to 05.00p.m.

Mobile Bank - you have an opportunity
to receive information on your account and to effect payments by using
mobile phone and sms. For example, you may choose to receive an sms
message whenever money is transferred to your account;
- Automatic
payment of bills - you can avoid having to go to the bank to pay
your bills every month. Upon entering a respective agreement, the bank
will take care of your bills.
