This 7 September, the organization that provides processing of payments for the majority of European banks was affected by technical problems. As a result, around 65% of European banks saw a delay in processing of EUR payments. Although the greater part of payments with value date of 7 September was credited to payees’ accounts on 9 September, there still remain some banks affected by the incident.

In order to adequately inform and serve our customers, Swedbank’s Payments Department specialists have contacted those banks and are keeping track of progress in resolving this matter.

For our customers, all incoming payments have already been credited to customer accounts.

Note that the problem affected only those payments where the transfer date is 7 September. Payments with later transfer dates are processed on time and in line with information available in the Bank’s price list.
